Biography

Arnold Nevolovitsch was born in 1953 in Leningrad (St. Petersburg, Russia). There he graduated in 1978 from the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory as a composer and music pedagogue. He is a member of the Composers' Union of Russia since 1986. For many years he worked as an organizer and chairman of the jury of the annual international competition for young composers in St. Petersburg. At the same time, he taught composition, music theory and piano and worked as accompanist in various music schools of St.Petersburg.
Arnold Nevolovitsch is a multiple prize winner at the International Composers Competition for piano duo in Tokyo (Japan), where he won for his compositions the 1st prize in 1995 and 2nd prize as well as special prizes in 2005. He then became a member of the International Piano Duo Association.
Nevolovitsch has written numerous compositions for various solo instruments (especially for solo piano and piano four hands), for chorus and Orchestra, chamber and vocal music, music for children and theater. Many of them are published and performed throughout the world.
The style of the composer is determined by organic compound of modern, romantic, popular and jazz-like melodies, harmonies and rhythms. His music is lyrical and melodic, with great temperament and humor.

Since 1997 Arnold Nevolovitsch lives with his family in Lübeck, teaches piano and composition at music schools Lübeck and Neumünster, conducts the choir of the Music School in Lübeck, plays in ensembles with different instrumentalists and singers, gives concerts with piano music, often four hands with his wife Irina, works closely as composer with Theater am Tremser Teich and Geschwister-Prenski-School. In these cooperations he has written music among other for "Max and Moritz", the famous story by Wilhelm Busch. It was followed by the musical fairy tale "The Snow Queen", cantata "Der Zauberlehrling" for chorus and Orchestra, musicals "East Side Story", "Mobb_sie!" ... All of these and other works have been performed successfully. It is now followed by "Prenski_live - The Musical" (premiere on 6/13/2014 in the Geschwister-Prenski-School in Lübeck).
